This book documents the Walker Art Center’s six-year expansion process, encompassing
not only the architectural design, but also the overall experience planning
of the institution and the thinking behind its collections and various artistic
programs. The book contains sections about the architectural design process
(“Designing”), the development of new interactive technologies (“Interacting”),
essays about civic engagement and experience design, photography of the completed
building (“Unveiling”, “Connecting,” “Framing,” etc.) and a research bibliography.
