Space and Time
various sizes
color photographs
From a statement written in 2000:
I’ve been thinking about the space we maintain between ourselves and others.
Specifically, how proximity speaks about our relationships with others—how
we huddle in groups of familiarity and use distance as a form of protection.
Still, In the back of my head, I keep thinking about Stephen Hawking's Red Star
Theory—which suggests that the universe is still expanding and that the
stars are growing further apart from each other. These photographs are my hypothesis
that there is a connection between that theory and how people interact in and
with the space around the them.
